I did an Art Foundation course at Cheltenham, and then a degree in 'Graphics & Visual Communication', at Bath Academy of Art, Corsham, Wilts. Early work experience was at Prontaprint, Bath; a small brass-etched jewellery-making business; and as an architectural illustrator. I have been a freelance illustrator for nearly 20 years now. I work in watercolours mainly, but also use gouache and coloured inks, with fine pencil details. I have worked extensively in children's book publishing: - storybooks, novelty, board books, atlases, religious titles, educational projects..... usually full colour, but some black and white line work too. I have also worked on magazines, shop fronts, jigsaws, painting holidays...., and I take on watercolour commissions. Clients include:- OUP, Cornelsen Verlag, Smallworld Creations, Emma Treehouse, Usborne, James Galt Toys, Scholastic, Reader's Digest, Oyster Books, Future Publishing, 'Yours' Magazine, The BBC, and more...
