Paula studied illustration at Falmouth College of Arts, graduating in 2005. She was included in the AOI’s Images 30, and was also one of 11 new illustrators selected to exhibit at The Coningsby Gallery, in London. She visited the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2006, where she met her agent. Paula moved to Bristol in 2007 where she has since been working with several children’s publishers including Kingfisher, Parragon, Out of the Ark, A Productions, Templar and Random House. She uses pencil and watercolours, and finds inspiration from music, friends and the interests and oddities of daily life.
